It was that time again at Cross Academy. Time for the Day Class student’s to return to their dorms and for the Night Class to start their lessons. And true to the nature of the Day Class…They did no such thing. You were stood in between your two best friends, Hanabusa Aido and his cousin Akatsuki Kain. You had your texts books against your chest and your arms folded around it. As the gates of the Moon Dorm started to open, you let out a heavy sigh.

“Here we go again. Honestly, why doesn’t the headmaster put more members on the Disciplinary Comity then this would be so much easier.

Dorm President Kaname Kuran, who was stood just in front of you, looked over his shoulder and smiled down at you. “Now, now Keiko. The Disciplinary Comity is very skilled in what they do, and they are the only two people in this academy that know our little secret. They are doing the best they can.”

“Of course Lord Kaname, I know that but….” You glanced at your old friend Yuki Cross as she was trying to hold back a large group of girls that were all screaming out for the male members of your class, a gently smile came across your face and you looked back at the pureblood. “….But you know as well as I do, the two of them alone cannot make much of a difference against 100 screaming girls. Even if they do have the advantage of Zero’s scary face.” You chuckled at your last statement and you felt a nudge to your left. You looked to see Aido smirking at you. “What.” You said as you stopped smiling.

“Scary face? That’s not what you told me last night…” You gasped slightly and closed your eyes. You turned your head away from him as a large blush came over your face. “I don’t know what you’re talking about Hanabusa.”

With that, Lord Kaname, Ruka and Vice-President Ichijo started to walk though the gates, smiling and waving as they went. Well, Kaname and Ichijo did…Ruka just glared at any girl she though said anything ‘inappropriate’ about Kaname. You were about to take a step when you saw Aido hold his arm out to you from the corner of your eye. You looked at him. He was smiling and his eyes were closed as he was bent over slightly, offering his arm to you. “May I escort you Keiko?”

“No.” You replied in a snap. Aido’s eyes widened as he looked at you, shock written all over his face. “Wha..!”

“After what you just said to me a few minuets ago, I don’t think you deserve it.”

Aido’s eyes softened. “You didn’t have to be so blunt about it”. You were about to add something to his statement when another arm appeared in front of you. This time you looked up to meet the gaze of Aido’s taller, more handsome, cousin. You smiled up at him.

“Would you like me to escort you instead?”

“It would be a pleasure. Thank you Akatsuki.” You linked arms with Kain and the two of you walked towards the classroom, arm in arm, ignoring all of the protests from the Akatsuki fan girls that were now practically crying with envy. Aido, on the other hand, was also practically crying with envy as he followed behind the pair, dragging his knuckles along the ground, head down low.

Class had ended about five minuets ago, or more the teacher had walked out due to the lack of focus. Lord Kaname had insisted that the class stay in session until such time as he saw fit. Meaning, he didn’t want us wondering around campus and causing trouble for Yuki. Typical of him, always thinking of Yuki’s wellbeing. You sat at your desk, your right cheek resting in the palm of your hand. You were staring out the nearest window. Zero was on the balcony, his back against the window. True, you had a crush on Zero but you knew that it would never be. He hated vampires and of course, you were one. You watched as his sliver hair brushed lightly against the skin of his neck. One of your fangs popped its way free of your mouth and nestled itself into the skin just underneath your lip. Oh how you wanted to sink your teeth into his neck…How you wanted to taste how sweet his blood would but….It wasn’t Zero’s blood you yearned for…It was…

“Ow!” You snapped out of your thoughts and grabbed the back of your head as an eraser hit it. You turned to glare at the only person who could have thrown it. “What was that for Hanabusa?” Aido looked as bored as you were with his left palm against his cheek. “You were daydreaming again. No wonder your name means distant”

“I was not! I was just…” You started, standing from your seat.

“Watching Zero again…” You were shocked by who the statement came from. You turned your body to look at the pureblood vampire. His eyes were cased down into a book but he had the faintest trace of a smirk.

“I was not Lord Kaname! I was looking at the moon and he just happened to be in the way!” You stated, turning your back to Kaname, your arms across your chest. In reality, no one should ever talk that way to a pureblood but with you it was different. Kaname allowed you to speak freely like that to him because he ‘liked your spirit’. He told you that the first time you met him. Ruka on the other hand, hated you for it.

“Keiko, how dare you talk to Lord Kaname that way…Apologize at once…”

“Oh zip it Ruka. You know your bitchy I’m-Lord-Kanames-Number-One-Fan attitude has never worked on me before so just shut up and go stair in a mirror for a while. Leave us in peace for once.” You heard chuckles from all around you, even Lord Kaname let out a tiny one. Ruka, having been completely humiliated, stormed out of the classroom and back to the dorm. The room was silent for a while before you couldn’t take it anymore. With a sigh you dropped your arms and walked up the stairs to where Aido sat. You walked behind the long bench seat and leaned over the spot just next to him. “Hanabusa, do you have any blood tablets? I’m thirsty.”

Aido spoke as he rummaged around in his inside jacket pocket. “Blood Tablets? You never take blood tablets; you said that you hated the taste.”

You took the small box from him and dug around inside, deciding which one you wanted to take. “I know and I do…But I’m thirsty…I haven’t had anything to drink in 2 days. I need it.” You found the one you wanted and handed the rest back to Aido. The whole class watched you as you held up the tablet in front of you as if examining it. “I guess it’s now or never.” You placed the tablet on your tongue and closed your mouth up. You grabbed your throat as you swallowed it, a look of disgust on your face. After it had traveled all the way down you looked at Aido with a small smile, your hand still at your throat. “That…Wasn’t so bad…” You were wrong…Before you knew it; you were killed over the bench, loud, ear piercing coughs erupting from your mouth. Aido had quickly jumped over the bench, his arm under your stomach to support you. In an instant, all the other vampires, including Lord Kaname was also at your other side, one hand under your chin and the other rubbing your back as if trying to bring something up that shouldn’t have gone down.

“Keiko, are you alright?!” Aido yelled at you. You couldn’t answer even though you wanted to…His voice sounded so panicky and you wanted to reassure him.

“It’s okay Keiko, just breath” Lord Kaname on the other hand, was so calm. He was acting as if he had dealt with this before. Of course, he had. After a few more loud coughs, something small and round flew out of your mouth. You stopped coughing and wiped your mouth free of saliva. On the table, next to Aido’s open text book, lay the blood tablet that you had so painfully swallowed. You whimpered gently, you felt like such a fool. Lord Kaname pulled you backwards. His hand still under your chin and the other now around your waist as you leaned back against him. After that ordeal, you were tired and weak and Kaname was like a gift sent from heaven, his soft, firm frame made the perfect place to rest. You leaned your head back against his shoulder and closed your eyes as you reached your hand up and closed it around the wrist that held your chin. In your weakened state, you could only manage a whisper “I’m….I’m sorry…Lord…Kaname…” In a matter of mere seconds, you couldn’t hold yourself together any more. You fell asleep, falling limp in Kaname’s arms. Removing the hand on your chin, Kaname slipped his arm under your legs and lifted you up bridal style. All of the vampires, Aido more than anyone, had worried looks on their faces.

“Everyone, back to the dorm.” Kaname started to walk towards the classrooms exit when Vice-President Ichijo spoke. “Will she be alright, Kaname?”

“Not to worry Takuma, she’ll be fine when she gets some rest.” Kaname continued with his exit when the others started to follow, Aido right behind Kaname.

Kaname had ordered all of the Vampires apart from Rima and Aido to go straight to their rooms and to not come out until he told them too. He carried you to your room and laid you down on the bed gently. He turned to the two vampires that had followed him, ready to give them their orders. “Rima, please change Keiko out of her uniform and into something more comfortable, then head to your room like the others.” Rima nodded and walked towards the bed. She started to undress you as Kaname and Aido stepped out. “Hanabusa, I want you to watch over her. Do not leave her side until she wakes up. Once she does wake up, I want you to keep her in her room until I come to check on her. Tend to her every need, do you understand?” Aido didn’t answer in words, he knew that if he spoke, his voice would be full of worry and that made him seem weak in Kaname’s eyes so he just nodded. “Good. I must report this to the Headmaster. I’ll be back later in the day. Remember what I said Hanabusa. I’ll hold you responsible if anything happens to her while I’m away.” Kaname was gone before his words had finished. It always freaked you out how purebloods were able to appear and disappear in the blink of an eye.

Aido waited until Rima had finished. After she left, he entered and placed a chair by your bed and took a seat in it. He watched your sleeping form for what seemed like hours, though when you awakened the moon was still shining brightly. You slowly sat up and placed a hand over your throbbing head. You groaned and looked around you, the last thing you remember was apologizing to Lord Kaname and Hanabusa…Wait, Hanabusa? You eyes froze upon the sleeping form of Aido in the chair next to your bed. You smiled gently, and pulled the covers of, allowing the cool night air to cool your slightly fevered skin. You moved your legs over the edge of the bed and leaned forwards slightly to look at his face. “Baka.” You whispered gently and stood. You tip toed towards the door and was just about to turn the handle when…

“What are you doing Keiko?” You turned and smiled nervously at the blonde haired vampire. “Well, hello sleep head…I was just going to get a glass of water.” You were lying of course, truth was, you wanted to find Kaname and thank him. Aido’s face remained straight that is until he yawned which made you giggle. He stood from the chair and started to walk over to you, trying to fix his now messed up hair. “Lord Kaname has ordered me to keep you in the room until he returns.”

You frowned. “Ahh, come on Hanabusa…I just want some water.”

“I’ll get the water, you stay here.” He walked closer, still trying to fix his hair. As he did, he brushed some of the side behind his ear, exposing the skin of his neck. Suddenly, something inside you snapped. Your eyes shot open as a pain went though your whole body. You quickly backed up against the door, startling Aido with your actions.

“Keiko…Are you alri…”

“Stay back!” You snapped at him, making him stop in his tracks. You threw your hands over your eyes and fell to your knees, groaning in pain. Aido once again started to advance towards you.

“I said stay back Hanabusa…! Please…I don’t….I don’t want to hurt you…” Aido heard the pleading in your voice and once again stopped.

“Hurt me…? What do you mean…You wont…” Aido gasped as you looked up at him, your eyes crimson red with bloodlust. “I can’t control it anymore Hanabusa…My thirst for blood…it’s to strong…I…I need…”

Hanabusa stood frozen with shock for a minuet or two before his face turned soft. He took a step towards you, this time ignoring your please for him to stay away. He kneeled down in front of you and cupped your face in his hands.

“Keiko…You need blood, right…? My blood…” His words didn’t seem to bother him, neither did the color of your eyes as he stared right to them. You didn’t look away either.

“Yes…” You spoke in a gentle tone. “…I want your blood…I crave your blood…I yearn for it. Hanabusa…” Aido smiled and he started to undo his school blazer and tie. “Hanabusa…Please, don’t…You know what it means for another vampire to drink the blood of another…They can never give their blood to another…Don’t…”

“I know that…” He still had the smile on his face as he finally finished unbuttoning the top few buttons of his shirt. “…I wouldn’t want anyone else to taste my blood…Than you Keiko.”

A smile crept onto your face too. “Hanabusa…” Aido slowly leaned down and captured your lips in a gently, but passionate kiss. You could feel his lust for you; it was the same lust you felt towards him. He pulled away from you and slid one of his hands around the back of your head. He slowly pushed your face towards the crock of his neck where he held you there. “Try not to waist to much…You need all the strength you can get.” You hesitated, letting his words sink in before wrapping your arms around his back, sinking your fingers into the fabric of his shirt. “I wont…” You opened your mouth, letting your pearl white fangs glisten in the moonlight. You lowered them until the tip was just touching Aido’s neck. You could feel his pulse under his skin as she brushed them up and down the vain, finding the right spot. Upon finding it, you once again hesitated before sinking your teeth into the flesh of his neck. Crimson liquid leaked out into your mouth and slowly ran down your throat. You took your time feeding, enjoying the sweet, sensual taste of your new partner’s blood. With each mouthful you swallowed, you made a gulping noise, your body moving in time with the pulsing blood. After a few minuets of feeding, you were starting to feel satisfied. You were still thirsty but you didn’t want to overdo it and risk hurting your precious doner. You pulled your fangs out of Aido’s neck but kept your lips close to it. You licked the trail of blood that had escaped your mouth, up his neck and around the fang marks in his skin. You licked him clean of blood and pulled away. Your eyes were cast down as you wiped your mouth free of blood. You finally had the courage to look up at Aido. He was still smiling at you. It appeared that he wasn’t affected too much by the loss of blood. “How was it? Do you feel better?” You nodded in reply. “Thank you…Hanabusa…I needed that.” Aido just chuckled and that made you want to do something to show your appreciation. “Hanabusa…There’s something that I need to do for you in return.” Aido looked confused. You didn’t need to explain, your actions spoke louder than your words…you untied the ribbon on your nightgown and pulled it down to just above your elbows. You then brushed your hair away from your neck and tilted your head to the side. Now Aido understood. He smiled once again as he got the message. Unlike you, he didn’t hesitate and held you around the waist, the both of you leaning high up on your knees. One of your hands held onto his shoulder while the other slid into the back of his hair as he tilted you back slightly. His lips captured your neck with a kiss which felt wonderful but you were in ecstasy when his fangs sunk into your pail skin. You gasped slightly when they first penetrated you but you soon relaxed into it. There you were, sharing the most passionate thing vampires could do with one another. It wasn’t with the person you had always imagined it with but…”No other lips…shall grace this neck…”
